Acorn Cottage Bed and Breakfast is a picturesque former farmhouse set within half an acre of gardens in West Devon on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and close to the Cornish border.Acorn Cottage is a 5 minute drive from Tavistock (voted Best Market Town in 2005) which provides excellent shops pubs restaurants a pannier market Tues. to Sat.a swimming pool and The Wharf entertainment centre with cinema art gallery and concert hall. An ideal base for exploring the South West with easy access to Dartmoor and the outstanding peninsula coastline. We are also located just off the Devon Coast to Coast (Route 27) part of the national cycle network. There are several National Trust properties nearby as well as other gardens. The Eden Project is about an hour away. There is a golf course 2 miles away and a gliding club about 1 mile away. We can cater for vegetarians and other special diets. Children are welcome and there are many attractions for them. We are close to good pubs for evening meals. A warm and friendly welcome from owners Jane and Tony Weller awaits you when you arrive at Acorn Cottage. You will be offered a drink and home made cake on arrival. We have 3 comfortable en-suite rooms two double and one twin. Facilities include; Private off-road parking (no cost) access to the gardens colour T.V's hairdryers teacoffeehot chocolate in all rooms secure storage for cycles bikeboot washing facilities. We operate in a relaxed non-smoking family friendly environment. Breakfasts are made to order using fresh localorganic produce whenever possible. We are members of the Dartmoor Partnership and have been inspected by them and awarded The Dartmoor First Award which means we are committed to putting Dartmoor first by using local organic fair traded or home made produce whenever possible and helping to protect the local environment by composting reusing and recycling.

Directions to Acorn Cottage TAVISTOCK

From M5 Junction 31 take the A30 towards Okehampton. After passing the 2 junctions for Okehampton take the A386 towards Tavistock. After about 4 miles turn right to Lydford. Continue through Lydford and Brentor passing the Brentor Inn on your right and Brentor Church high up on your left. When you see South Brentor signposted left almost immediately take the first turning right (no signpost). Acorn Cottage TAVISTOCK is about 12 mile down this lane on the left 20 yards from the cross roads. Turn into the car park and approach the house from there.From Tavistock centre with the Church on your left and Town Hall on your right take Drake Road which goes up hill towards Chillaton. Continue for 2 miles passing the golf course on your right. After an 's' bend take the left fork signposted Chillaton. At the next crossroads (just under a mile) you will see Acorn Cottage TAVISTOCK on your right. Turn right and then right again into our carpark.
