Directions to Glenalmond House Edinburgh

By Car All roads leading into Edinburgh pass a sign directing them to the City Bypass A720. Take the city bypass A720 to the Straiton junction (towards the east end of bypass) then take the A701 towards Edinburgh for approx 2.5 miles. You will go down a steep hill (Liberton Brae) and through a set of lights at the bottom. Go through another set of lights and Cameron Toll Shopping Centre will be to your right by the next traffic lights where the main road bears left heading for Edinburgh City Centre. Go straight through these lights and head up Craigmillar Park road for about a quarter of a mile. Here the road name changes to Mayfield Gardens. On the right hand side past Ventnor Terrace on the right look out for a large detached house set back from the road with the sign Glenalmond House Edinburgh' Here turn into the car park in front of the house and you are there. By Bus or Train Either take a taxi from the railway or bus stations in the city centre which will cost you about œ6 or you can take the local bus from Princes Street. The bus stop is on Princes Street opposite the Scott Monument and Waverley Bridge. From St Andrews Bus Station When you come out of St Andrews Square Bus Station up the escalator turn left into St Andrews Square and walk down to Princes Street (you will see the Waverley Shopping Centre entrance across the junction) Turn right on Princes Street the bus stop is opposite Waverley bridge and the Scott monument. Get on bus number 3 3A 31 37 or 47. From Waverley Train Station Either come up the Waverley steps onto Princes Street or come up the taxi ramp onto Waverley Bridge turn right and walk up onto Princes Street. The bus stop is just on the opposite side of the Princes Street across from the Scott Monument. Get on bus number 3 3A 31 37 or 47. From Edinburgh Airport A regular Taxi from the airport will cost around 20-25 Pounds to Glenalmond House Edinburgh depending on the time of day and the traffic. You can also take the express bus to Waverley Bridge (5 Pounds return 3 Pounds single ). Then walk up to Princes Street and cross the road. Take the bus from the stop opposite the Scott Monument. Get on bus number 3 3A 31 37 or 47. Local Buses to Glenalmond House Edinburgh From Princes Street you can take either the bus number 3 3A 31 37 or 47. The fare is œ1.10 and you will need exact fare as drivers do not give change. Ask the driver for Mayfield Gardens. If you sit on the left hand side of the bus look out for the point at which there are no further shops. The road name changes to Minto Street and carried on until you see the road East Mayfield on the left hand side. Get off at the stop after this road and you are only yards from Glenalmond House Edinburgh on the same side of the road. You can buy a day ticket from the driver for œ3.00 which will allow you to ride on any Lothian buses all day. This is the cheapest and easiest way to get around Edinburgh.
