The Greyhound Inn is a 300 year old country inn situated on the very edge of The Lake District National Park. Our comfortable cottage-style rooms are all en-suite with teacoffee TV towels and toiletries provided. There is a sizable car park. The Greyhound Inn is ideally situated for walkers ramblers cyclists and tourists. From our location it is easy to reach most of the South Lakeland attractions including the Wildlife Park Barrow Dock Museum Sellafield Visitor Centre Ravenglass and Eskdale Miniature Railway Go Ape in Grizedale forest and of course the Southern Lakes of Windermere and Coniston. We are also close to some stunning coastline and sea fishing areas. There are many fine walks from the doorstep of the pub that bring you stunning views of the Southern Lakeland hills and the Duddon estuary. Well behaved pets and children are welcome. Two of our rooms are family sized. Dogs are allowed in any room except the four-poster bedroom. Our prices include full English or vegetarian breakfast. We serve home-cooked meals from 6pm Mon to Sat lunches from 12noon until 2pm on Friday and Saturday. Meals are served from 12noon until 9pm on Sundays. Packed lunches and hot flasks can be orderd for your trips out. The cosy bar at The Greyhound Inn serves a selection of real ales draft beers and lagers plus a good range of wines spirits and soft drinks including tea and coffee. Meals and drinks can be enjoyed outdoors on sunny days or by an open fire in the bar on cold evenings. Since January 2009 The Greyhound Inn has been run by the local community . Leave M6 at Junc 36 and follow signs for Barrow-in-Furness and A590.Stay on the A590 until you reach Greenodd where you see the head of Morecambe Bay to your left as you join a dual carriageway.Turn right here following signs for A5092 Millom Whitehaven Workington and ConistonAfter about 6 miles you will decend a steep hill and with magnificent views across the Duddon estuary and hills beyond.. The Grizebeck village name post is on the left verge.At the bottom of this hill is a slip road signed back to Barrow via A595 and a Texaco garage on the far corner.Take this left turn and The Greyhound is straight in front of you.Our large car-park is on the opposite side of the road.
