Built in the 1400's The George and Pilgrim is the oldest purpose built public house in the South West of England and is steeped with history. Following a recent refurbishment there is a choice of very special en suite bedrooms some with magnificently draped four poster beds for that special occasion. All rooms have TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Enjoy a leisurely aperitif or traditional ale in The Pilgrim's bar with its old charm and character it's the perfect spot to delve into the myths and mysteries of this beautiful county. Along with an impressive panelled stone frontage mullion windows old oak beams this is a fine and historic building where you will take a step back in time as you enter the hotel yet offering all the modern facilities you would expect. Bar snacks are available in The Pilgrims bar. The hotel also has a superb restaurant with an A la Carte menu with freshly prepared home made food. The Chalice Suite is licensed for Civil Ceremonies. It's an excellent choice for weddings holding functions for up to 90 . For Business Meetings they are able to cater for up to 50 delegates.
