The Old Court House is one of the oldest buildings in Bowness. It was built in 1843 as the Police Station & Jail and extended in 1858 to incorporate the Court House.

Leave the M6 at jct 36 to The Lakes. Follow A590/A591 to Windermere. Take the left turn into the village opposite the Windermere Hotel. Follow the one-way system into the village. Follow signs for Bowness and the lake The Old Court House is on the right-hand side just before the Royalty cinema.
