Viewbank House is a former 19th century farmhouse that has been tastefully converted and extended into a traditional Family run Guest House whilst still retaining all it s original character charm and features. From it s elevated position over Whiting Bay it enjoys superb panoramic views across the Firth of Clyde and Holy Isle to the Ayrshire coastline taking in both Troon and Turnberry on a clear day. Less than half a mile from the main village local restaurants pubs and shops it is the ideal tranquil peaceful and secluded location without being too remote for those relaxing get away from it all short breaks allowing you to fully unwind. It is also the perfect base for a more extended holiday to explore the hidden treasures of the island. Set in it s own lawned grounds with private off-road car parking Viewbank has the feel of a small hotel with it s large TV and piano lounge exclusively for guests with games for all the family books CD and video/DVD player. All 8 bedrooms (Doubles Twins & Singles - most of which are en-suite have tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. We also have two large ground floor Double/Twin bedrooms for anyone with mobility difficulties. Three of rooms are sea facing all with stunning sea views with a further three having views over to Holy Isle. Owners Malcolm & Julie offer an exceptional hospitality experience from your initial contact and arrival greeting through to your departure. We can tell you where to see the seals the varied bird life and help you with questions you might have. the best place to perhaps catch sight of a golden eagle and very varied bird life. Many of our guests return each year some have even grown up at Viewbank over the years!! with Viewbank holding many special memories. Our breakfasts have become Legendary using local Arran produce when available served in the relaxed ambience of our themed dining room surrounded by the many pieces of music & golfing memorabilia which adorn the walls. If Golf is your bag the testing and spectacular 18 hole Whiting Bay Golf Club is a mere 200m down the road so leave your car in our car park and stroll along to the 1st tee. (Discounts available for residents). We are also the closest accommodation provider to the mightily impressive Glenashdale Water Falls - one of Arran s many hidden wonders. The Isle of Arran is often described as Scotland in Miniature difficult to believe it s just 2 hours from Glasgow city centre and even less to two major international airports. The Gulf Stream provides the temperate climate which allows palm trees and wild flowers to grow in profusion. Sandy beaches coves and mountains all within one hours sail from the mainland make Arran the ideal holiday island. Whiting Bay is Arran s 3rd village well served by it s varied facilities and the main island bus routes just 8 miles due South from the Ferry and Brodick. Whiting Bay is just 8 miles south of Brodick. Turn left at Brodick Ferry Port and continue through Lamlash and into the village of Whiting Bay. Continue right through the village until you see the Eden Lodge hotel on the right. Just past the hotel on the corner of the bowling green and Coffee Pot cafe turn right and follow the brown tourist board signs for Viewbank Guest House for half a mile up Golf Course Road. Viewbank Guest House is situated on the left 200 yards before the golf course.
