The Hill is a 4 star silver B&B in an elegant Lakeland home which dates from the early 1800 s it is set within a magnificent topiary garden surrounded by countryside. Only 12 miles from junction 36 of the M6 motorway situated on the A591 between Kendal and Windermere The Hill is an ideal base from which to explore some of the Lake Districts finest scenery or for a break in a long journey north or south. Ings Village is also the home of the Watermill Inn CAMRA award winning pub with a national reputation for good food and real ales. The Hill has three bedrooms individually decorated with en-suite shower rooms 350 thread count pure cotton sheets luxury mattress toppers down pillows and duvets our bedrooms are as comfortable as they are attractive. We know that a hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day and we offer a traditional Cumbrian breakfast a good selection of quality products many of them local freshly prepared and served in our family dining room. In the evening relax and unwind in our charming lounge take time stroll round our beautiful garden or sit and ponder soothed by the gentle sounds of the River Gower as it passes by.

Directions to The Hill KENDAL

From Junction 36 M6 Motorway:- 1) Take A591 towards Kendal / Windermere / Lake District 2) At the roundabout north of Kendal continue along the A591 towards Windermere 3) Continue for about 3miles reduce your speed to 40 Miles per hour as you proceed into Ings village. 4) Continue on the main road pass the BP garage and the Watermill Inn on the left hand side. Watch out for the speed camera. 5) At the end of the central reservation manoeuvre into the middle of the road to turn right. Do not turn right into Grassgarth Lane. 6) Turn right into the drive .We have a green sign with white writing THE HILL . How to find us from The North:- 1) Take A591 towards Windermere/ Kendal / Lancaster/ M6 2) Pass through Windermere. Stay on the A591 3) Continue for about 1.5 miles reduce your speed to 40 Miles per hour as you proceed into Ings village. 4) After about 200 metres pass a junction to the left- Sign posted High Borrans . 5) Beyond the junction on the left side of the road there are 2 driveways which join the main road. Turn left into the 2nd drive. There is a bus stop 100 metres from the drive entrance and there is a frequent bus service. (Stagecoach 555) The nearest main line train station is Oxenholme- The Lake District Windermere is the nearest branch line train station 5 minutes away by car/taxi
