It is an excellent area for walking and bird watching due to its spectacular location at the edge of Dundrum Bay and the Mourne Mountains. br / br / br / br / Only a 20 minute drive from Cherryhill Lodge is the award winning Tyrella beach and dune conservation area. This is a small enclosed complex within Dundrum Bay Downpatrick County Down. It is a wide flat sandy beach two kilometres long and backed by 25 hectares of mature dunes in a conservation area offering scenic walks and an insight into the habitat of local flora and fauna.

Directions to Cherryhill Lodge Newcastle

Newcastle County Down - Road: Cherryhill Lodge is only 1.5 miles from the main street in Newcastle. Follow the main street until you reach the traffic lights at the bottom. Take the right lane. Continue for 0.2 miles and take the left on to Tullybrannigan Road. On this road take the second left and follow this road up the hill and round the corner. From here follow the road straight for 0.6 miles and throught a small roundabout. After passing the roundabout Cherryhill Lodge is up the hill second on the left.
