The Eighteenth Century Punchbowl Inn is a well-furnished establishment which in past times was a farm and orchard. The beams at the Punchbowl have splits in which coins are once forced for luck . Directions to Punch Bowl Inn Penrith

Penrith - Road: Head southeast on Little Dockray and turn right onto Corn Market/A592. Take Princes St and Southend Rd to Victoria Rd/A6. Turn left onto Great Dockray and slight left to stay on Great Dockray. Slight left onto Princes St continue onto Southend Rd and turn left toward Victoria Rd/A6. Turn right onto Victoria Rd/A6 and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Kemplay. At the second one just take the 2nd exit onto B5320 and slight left. Enter Askham and follow signs Askham Hall Gardens. br/ br/ Penrith Train Station - Bus: Walk about 10 minutes and take the bus 106 near King street towards Kendal. In 10 minutes get out of the bus at Estate Office bus stop and walk 1 mile through Lowther Deer Park into Askham over the river Lowther and to the Punch bowl inn up the hill on the left hand side.
