WATSON LODGE is a Georgian town-house built in 1827. We are a mix of old and modern with many period features still intact throughout the building. br / br / br / br / We offer several room types - twin triple family double - and all our double rooms have super-king size beds. All rooms have FREE WiFi and a 32 flat screen television with FREEVIEW. br / br / br / br / Our ground floor room is suitable for guests with restricted mobility and we can arrange hire of a mobility scooter. br / br / br / br / Guests are welcome to enjoy the paved garden area to the rear of the property which is stocked with unusual plants and flowers and is a real sun-trap during the summer. br / br / br / br / We are located in a quiet street in the town centre close to shops restaurants and pubs. Edinburgh is only 40 minutes by car and trains and buses run every half hour. br / br / br / br / The scenery here is world renowned and perfect for weddings family gatherings photography or just walking. There are also many historical sites to explore and the area also offers golf fishing cycling mountain biking swimming gym fitness classes horse riding and even zorba football. For the less energetic there are shops beauty treatment salons 4 screen cinema bingo hall theatre concerts and an excellent choice of restaurants and pubs offering live music and entertainment. Children are also well catered for with indoor soft play areas and a deer farm and donkey sanctuary nearby. The Melrose 7s Rugby Tournament is held in April with top class teams competing from around the world. Edinburgh - Road: From the Edinburgh bypass head south and leave the bypass at the Gilmerton Junction. Then follow the A7 south. br/ br/ Carlisle - Road: Take the A7 north from Carlisle. br/ br/ Edinburgh Waverley - Train: The train to Galashiels will be operational from 6th September 2015. br/ br/ Edinburgh Airport - Air: From Edinburgh Airport take the tram to Edinburgh St. Andrew Square. Cross the road to St. Andrew Square Bus Station and take the no. 95 bus to Carlisle/Hawick - buses run every half hour. Trains will run from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station on Princes Street to Galashiels from September 2015. br/ br/ Edinburgh St Andrew Square - Bus: Take the no. 95 bus going to Hawick or Carlisle. Buses run every half hour.
