Glendale Guesthouse is a very beautiful and extremely spacious Victorian built town house constructed from traditional Cumbrian Red Sandstone built in the mid 1800 s around 1850. Our delightful Victorian property still retains many of its original features with high ceilings & large windows delivering tranquil views both to the rear over the delightful & peaceful Church Grounds and to the front over the perfectly maintained Penrith Coronation Gardens. br / br / Glendale Guesthouse is ideally situated in a very attractive location on Portland Place very close to the town centre. Located within very easy walking distance to the town centre where an abundance of shops deliver a good mix of high street shops equally combined with bespoke independent & speciality shops too. The town centre also delivers a good mix of eating places from fine restaurants to easy eating with pubs & cafes as well as bistros pizzeria s & salsa bars too your sure to find somewhere to meet your tastes. We are centrally located to the Northern Lake District & the North Pennies & the Eden Valley. As well as being close to the M6 giving the easy option for a great overnight stay helping to break-up those longer journey s. Penrith is also on the Coast-to-Coast (C2C) Cycle route and at Glendale Guesthouse warmly welcome cyclists. We have a secure walled & gated rear garden where bikes can be secured overnight. There is a vast array of wonderful activities to enjoy within a short bus or car drive from Penrith these include some breath-taking scenic walks as well as golf shooting & archery through to water sports quad biking & paragliding too. M6 - Road: Penrith is at the crossroads of the M6 at J40 and A6. Just five minutes drive from the motorway simply follow the signs for the A592 from the M6 J40 pass the railway station & take the 1st exit at the mini-roundabout & then take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout Follow the round down-hill & at the traffic lights entre the one-way system & follow the right lane around then immediately taking the left lane to take the 1st junction on the left just by the Town Hall onto Portland Place. br/ br/ Penrith Station - Train: Follow A592 Turn left onto Cromwell Road & continue to follow the A592 pass 1st round about with Morrison s to your right. Continue to walk down-hill passing Booth s store to your left. At the bottom turn left onto Coney Square/Middlegate/A5. Continue to follow A5 turn right onto Portland Place just by the Town Hall Glendale is located about 30yards down on the left opposite Penrith Coronation Gardens.
