Betws y Coed, Gateway to Snowdonia

Submitted by Bryn Llewelyn Guest House on 05 May 2011

The village of Betws y Coed has recently been acknowledged as the Gateway to Snowdonia and Betws y Coed makes an excellent base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and North Wales. Betws y Coed is within easy driving distance of the whole of the Snowdonia National Park and North Wales, with the North and West coasts each within 20 miles or so. Betws y Coed is at the centre of the road network so is wonderful for exploring the area, whilst in the evening the village offers lots of choice of places to eat. The village also has a wide range of interesting shops, with a range of shops offering local crafts, together with a myriad of outdoor equipment shops. The village is within easy reach of all the major attractions including: Bodnant National Trust Garden, the world-famous Swallow Falls, Conwy Castle, steam trains on the Welsh Highland Railway and of course Mount Snowdon itself. Come enjoy a warm welcome to Wales.
