Blackland Lakes Holiday and Leisure Centre
Blackland Lakes was established in 1984 by the present owners John and Barbara Walden and is now managed by their son Sam. It is situated in Wiltshire, in beautiful countryside close to the Marlborough Downs, secure, well away from busy main roads, secluded and generally peaceful. The 15 acres comprise 7 small tree lined paddocks and three small lakes, two for coarse fishing and one as a nature reserve for wildfowl. There are 180 pitches for Motorhomes, Caravans and Tents, 130 with electricity and 15 "Superpitches" with all main services. Blackland Lakes has developed and grown over 30 years. The matured landscaped grounds provide a pleasant backdrop for a calming and relaxing break. Our park has a unique and informal layout which lends itself to all kinds of camping. We have mixture of small cosy paddocks and larger open areas so that whether you are with a group, in a big RV or camping alone in a small tent you can find a space that's comfortable for you. The site is well boundaried, secure, and away from busy roads which allows children to play and explore safely. We welcome families and dogs are welcome under the condition that they are kept on a lead at all times. The Campsite is situated just a few minutes from the Cherhill White Horse and is a short distance from the Avebury Stones and Silbury Hill. It is an ideal base to explore the local market and historical towns of Marlborough, Devizes and Calne and the picture postcard villages of Castle Combe and Lacock where several peroid damas have been filmed. The coarse fishery at Blackland Lakes is comprised of two Lakes; the larger Heron Lake has depths ranging from 4 to 12 feet. The second is Stans Lake with depths from 4 to 9 feet. The later one was named after Stan Haines who constructed them in 1983 with his massive dragline excavator. The Chalky water has proved to be ideal for fish and they are in excellent condition. Both Lakes are well stocked and contain Mirror carp up to 35 lbs, Tench to 4 lb, Roach to 2. 5lb Perch to 3lb Bream to 9lb, Crucian Carp to 3lb, Rudd and Gudgeon.
