D.H. Lawrence Heritage – A Novel Day Out For a novel day out D.H. Lawrence Heritage in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, is the place to visit. This multi award winning attraction brings together a museum; heritage centre; art exhibition space; two gift shops and a dining area, serving a delicious selection of refreshments. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is the house where D.H. Lawrence was born in 1885. Knowledgeable and friendly guides lead visitors around this quaint Victorian home to discover more about the writer’s family life and the charming working class home he lived in. While nearby Durban House Heritage Centre has a permanent exhibition depicting community life for the young Lawrence as well as a vibrant temporary art exhibition space. D.H. Lawrence Heritage is open Tuesday to Friday and Sunday from 10am until 5pm, April to October, and 10am until 4pm, November to March. Admission charges are £2.50 Adults and £1.75 Concessions.
