Student NUS Discount Discount for students in full time edication - see website for details The Wordsworth Trust owns and runs Dove Cottage, William Wordsworth's home in Grasmere, where he lived 1799 - 1808 and wrote all his best poetry. The house is open to the public, with entertaining guided tours providing an insight into how Wordsworth and his family lived and their famous visitors. The Trust also owns and runs The Wordsworth Museum, which follows the lives of the members of the Romantic movement and a social history of the area during the period. This is complemented by a programme of special exhibitions in a separate gallery, which has included Constable, Turner and most recently, Edward Lear’s landscapes of the Lake District. The emphasis is always on making the experience accessible and enjoyable, ensuring that exhibitions tell a story that is relevant to everyone.
