Gilcar Farm Holiday Cottages

Gilcar Farm, in Emley near Huddersfield, is a working dairy farm with a collection of luxury self-catering holiday cottages.

Gilcar Farm, located in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside in Emley near Huddersfield, has three unique self-catering holiday cottages that have been converted from unused farm buildings into luxury holiday accommodation. The Six Mistle, which was previously a milking parlour, is set around a courtyard and has four double bedrooms, a large open plan lounge-dining room and kitchen with Yorkshire stone flagged floor. It was designed with disabled access in mind, so has doors wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, a downstairs bedroom and adjoining wet room with Doc-M pack. The Barn has three double and one king-size bedroom, so can comfortably sleep eight people. It has a stylish open plan ground floor, complete with feature patio doors that lead out to an enclosed seating area with wonderful views of rural scenery. The Blacksmiths Shop can sleep up to seven people in its one single, one double and two king-size bedrooms. It has a luxurious open plan kitchen, complete with modern facilities, York stone floor and a wood burning stove. It was also designed with wheelchair users in mind, so has widened doors and a ground floor bedroom with an adjoining bedroom. All our holiday accommodation has been finished to the highest possible standard, combining modern facilities with the period character of the buildings. Gilcar Farm is set in rugged countryside close to Emley Moor, so is the perfect base for a walking or cycling break. If you would prefer to spend your holiday in Yorkshire in a more relaxed fashion, we are within easy travelling distance of Eureka!, the Hepworth Gallery, Kirklees Light Railway, the National Mining Museum and the shops of Leeds.
