The iconic Education Village is the hub of the Darlington community, nominated by local residents as the best facility in the Haughton area. Situated only 3 miles from Junction 59 off the A1 (M) with parking for over 200 cars, it is also well served by the local number 9 and 10 bus service. The state-of-the-art building has become a home for community activities such as Waterbabies swimming classes, Darlington Football Club’s Centre of Excellence and national events like the British Kendo Summer Seminar. The pioneering project to create one purpose built site was the first of its kind in the UK and brought together Springfield Primary School, Haughton Community School and Beaumont Hill School. The venue boasts many specialist areas including a special needs life centre, two soft play and interactive areas, two sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy pool with sensory equipment and mobility hoists. This is in addition to the fantastic sports facilities, performing hall, dance studio and drama rooms. We can offer you a one-off or regular booking for your requirements and include a range of catering options.
