Appleby is within easy reach of both the Lake District and the Pennine Way and is serviced by the Settle to Carlisle railway. We offer private car park, secure cycle storage, drying facilities & packed lunch on request. The town centre is a short 5 minutes walk and provides relaxing and easy access to Appleby and the surrounding area. Sites of interest include the river Eden, St Lawrence’s church as well as a number of cafes and Galleries. Appleby is situated en route of long distance walks such as the world famous Pennine Way, Lady Ann Cliffords Way, the Westmorland Way and Carlisle to Settle walk. Local facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool with a fully equipped gym. Appleby also offers a new Sports Centre. An 18 hole Golf course is approx 2 miles outside Appleby. If you enjoy travelling on the railway, then Appleby is situated on the beautiful Carlisle to Settle line, Limnerslease being only 15 min walk from the Station. This restful bed and breakfast is an ideal base for the Lake District, local walks and the Cumbria Cycle way, as well as providing an idyllic half way stop for journeys up to Scotland. Accommodation Offered: Two spacious double rooms, one with large zip & link bed; one Twin bedded Room with shower & one small room. All rooms have Vanity units, (except the single room) colour TV, & free tea & coffee making facilities (Fair Trade), shared bathroom, bath robes are also provided. The breakfast menu includes full English breakfast, a favourite of all our guests, freshly cooked to order using only local produce. Home made bread & preserves are also available.
