From the horseshoe shaped stands, medical students watched some of the best surgeons in the country operate without without use of either anaesthetic or antiseptic procedures. The museum exhibition displays nineteenth century surgeons' saws and knives and extends into the Herb Garret of 1703 where the pharmaceutical equipment and herbs used by the hospital apothecary to make the patient's medicines were stored. The museum has a small shop and holds regular events as seen on the museum website. Unfortunately as the museum is visited via a 32 spiral staircase only.
