A warm welcome awaits you in this 16th century restaurant with rooms. The George Sudbury is situated on the edge of the village green in Cavendish, positioned in between the popular villages of Clare and Long Melford and just a short drive from the timeless village of Lavenham. Since October 2010, co-owners Lewis Bennet & Bonnie Steel have achieved their 1st Rosette and four stars from the AA & Visit Britain tourist guides. The emphasis at The George Sudbury is on the quality of food and customer service. The menus offer a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets. The menus change frequently and are guided by the seasons. We aim to use the highest quality, sustainably sourced ingredients and utilise our garden to grow seasonal items such as baby leaf, beetroot, edible flowers, tomatoes and herbs to use on the menu. At The George Sudbury, we have three separate dining rooms. Our front dining rooms boast exposed beams and open brickwork and can hold a range of different sized parties, giving the feel of private dining but still soaking up the atmosphere of the restaurant. We have comfortable banquette seating opposite the bar area, providing a more relaxed area for our customers. From here, it is possible to watch our chefs at work and really feel the hustle and bustle of kitchen life. The George Sudbury has five double en-suite bedrooms situated above the restaurant itself, so you are just a short flight of stairs form a chilled glass of wine or a pint of ale from Nethergate, our local brewery, just a few miles away. All five bedrooms have a unique sense of charm, with exposed beams, sash windows and views of the village green and church. Our bedrooms offer crisp white linen, flat screen televisions, wifi internet access, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and homemade cookies. All our rooms have double/king-size beds. Our largest room can also be made in to a twin room or family room with extra beds or cot. Our Rates start from £50.00 single occupancy, £75.00 double occupancy including breakfast. We also have a dinner, bed and breakfast rate for two people of £125.00 per room per night.

Breakfast: Start the day with tea/coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and a breakfast cooked to order. Choose from a full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or lighter options like berries and yogurt or freshly baked croissants.
