Built by the five times great grandfather of George Washington, Sulgrave Manor Banbury is a modest home from Shakespeare's time, lovingly restored. Friendly and informative guides treat visitors to the stories of the House. The historical garden is a delight at any time of the year. An award winning family friendly attraction: there are children's tours, trails and challenges, Family Holiday Mondays and extended opening at half terms. Refreshments and Gift Shop.

Pets: Dogs on leads are welcome on site but not in the House. A bowl of water is available for thirsty animals.

Families: Sulgrave Manor has been recognised as family friendly, having won a Renaissance Heritage Award in 2009 and an East Midlands Tourism Bronze Award in 2010. There is a tour especially for families every Saturday to find out about how the eleven Washington children lived and played at the Manor in the time of those tricky Tudors.This can be followed up with lots of trails, challenges etc. to take the young ones scampering round the garden. On Family Bank Holiday Mondays kids can dress up, meet Mr Washington and tackle that day's challenge which may mean looking for 'lost sheep' weird and wonderful 'creatures' or finding Herbie Hedgehog's friends. There are traditional games and attractive pocket money items to buy in the Gift Shop. The site is accessible for pushchairs. There are baby changing facilities and high chairs in the Buttery.

Disabled Facilities: There is level access to the Ticket Office/Shop and Buttery for refreshments. A disabled toilet is close by. Wheel chair users can access the site and the ground floor of the House. Staff are on hand to help at any time. A wheel chair is available and is free to borrow.
