Little Mead offers seclusion peace and a glorious setting. It has its own lovingly created garden. It is situated just 3.5 miles from the ancient Cathedral City of Winchester and is easily accessible by Air (from Southampton Heathrow and Gatwick) Road (via the M3 M27 and A34) Rail (Winchester Station is 3.5 miles away and offers good train services to London the South West and North). There is an hourly bus service on weekdays ( but not on Bank Holidays) until the early evening. br / br / br / br / Little Mead welcomes holiday makers and business people alike. For the former it is an excellent centre for walking cycling and for fishing trips and it is within easy travel distance of Stonehenge Jane Austin s house at Chawton Gilbert White s House at Selbourne the Alresford steam railway the New Forest the Historic Naval museums at Portsmouth and of course Winchester itself. It offers a good base for those having business at Sparsholt Agricultural College (0.5 miles) IBM Hursley NTL Aqiva in Crawley the Law Courts and Police HQ in Winchester and the army bases at Worthy Down and the Sir John Moore Training Regiment HQ. br / br / br / br / Families are particularly welcome as are guests attending weddings at the village church and Lainston House Hotel. br / br / br / br / All three rooms have their own bathroom facilitiesWi-fi Broadband connections Flat screen TV and tea and Coffee making facilities. br / br / br / br / The earliest check in time is 4pm and the latest check in time is 9pm. Winchester City Centre - Road: Leave Winchester on the Stockbridge Road Leave the Waitrose store in Weeke on your right. About 1 mile after leaving the 40mph zone turn left into Woodman Lane signposted Sparsholt. After about 1 mile and shortly after passing the Plough Inn on your right turn right by a small grass island and immediately turn left into Home Lane. Little Mead is about 200 metres up the lane on the left opposite a thatched cottage. br/ br/ Winchester Station - Train: Winchester is served by direct rail services from London Brighton Portsmouth Southampton and beyond and the Midlands and the North via Birmingham and Reading. On arrival at the station exit on the side where the trains arrive from London and take a taxi at the rank. It is a ten minute ride to Little Mead. Alternatively there is an hourly bus service (No 7) by day during weekdays. There is a stop in City Road just to the East of the station on the way into the city centre. br/ br/ Southampton Airport - Air: Southampton Airport Parkway station is close to the terminal building. Cross the bridge and take a train to Winchester. On arrival cross under the railway line via the subway and take a taxi. Alternatively take a No 7 bus from the stop in City Road which is just to the East of the station on the way into the City centre. Alight in Sparsholt opposite the Church. Take a path leaving the War Memorial and a paddock on your left. Little Mead is on your immediate right at the end of the path. br/ br/ City Centre - Bus: Sparsholt is seved by an hourly No 7 bus provided by Stagecoach during the day on weekdays. It leaves from the bus station just off the bottom of the High Street. On arrival in Sparsholt alight opposite the Church and take a path opposite the Post Office which leaves the War Memorial and a paddock on your left. Little Mead is at the end of the path on your immediate right. br/ br/ Heathrow - Coach: There is a regular National Express coach service from the Coach station at Heathrow and also from Terminal 5. This drops passengers by the King Alfred Statue at the foot of the High Street. There is a taxi rank near the drop off point. Alternatively take a No 7 bus service from the Bus Station just off the High Street. For directions on arrival in Sparsholt see the Bus or train directions.
