Family run B&B est.1990 quickly became known as Kates and the name stuck. On main A6 route into Carlisle midway M6 (1.5m) /City Centre (1.5m) ample FREE parking. Well located for touring Hadrian s Wall/Lakes/Scotland (bus/coach stop opposite). Shopping restaurants pubs nearby. This lovingly restored Victorian townhouse c1897 CH & DG throughout retains many period features stripped pine polished brass plaster mouldings etc. with original or reproduction furnishings creating a homely atmosphere. Newly decorated for 2015 bedrooms are in everyone s favourite blue and white with country pine furnishings some have en-suite (bath or shower) some with marble topped / pine washstands and shared shower WC & basin. Enjoying all the modern facilities wanted by our guests comfortable pocket sprung beds dressed with quality bedding snuggly duvets feather pillows (anti-allergic ones available) ensure a great nights sleep fluffy towel bale with face cloths hand and bath towels and a large bath sheet powerful hairdryer iron and board LCD TV/CD/DVD/WI-FI (bring your own laptop). There s a toiletries basket and a welcome tray with tea/coffee and biscuits in each bedroom so that you can make yourself at home & maps guide books and board games to borrow. br / br / The dining room in Art Noveau style has two pitch pine church pews flanking a farmhouse breakfast table a welsh dresser displays Willow pattern china . Try our self serve cold buffet home baked breads and jams fresh fruit cup cheeses yogurt before a cooked breakfast of choice then perhaps coffee in front of the Sandstone open log fire or in the flower filled patio garden. Free flask refills of tea or coffee for your journey are available (just ask) and we offer packed lunches (to order with whatever you need for a small charge). We do local speciality evening meals if you require them (order in advance) to eat in our dining room. Everything (we hope) you need to make your stay enjoyable one.
