Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths and Museum
In AD122 the Emperor Hadrian ordered a mighty frontier to defend the Roman Empire from the barbarians to the north. Segedunum Roman Fort stood on the banks of the River Tyne for 300 years and was the last outpost of Hadrian's Wall. Today, Segedunum is once again the gateway to this world-famous heritage site. Featuring dramatic reconstructions and excavations alongside an interactive museum and visitors centre, come face to face with Britain’s Roman history.
