Prices at The Myrtles Bed and Breakfast, Bedford Bedford from £65 This is a large double room in a family home just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Bedford. Your room has a large private bathroom with a double bath, toilet, basin and shower. The house has off-street parking and is behind an iron gate. The Space The space that we have to offer is a large, first-floor, dual-aspect, lovely double room at the front of our house that has its own adjoining private bathroom. The bedroom is ideal for up to two adults (and we can accommodate a single bed in the room as well if you want to sleep separately.) The bedroom is carpeted, has plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space and is warm and comfortable. The bathroom has a double bath, power-shower, toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail. The house is on a quiet street so you will have a great night's rest here. Everything is clean and tidy. It's a lovely room in a lovely house. Guest Access As well as having your own bedroom and bathroom, you are welcome to use our large family room that has an open fireplace, a reading/relaxing area, TV watching area with DVD player and flat screen TV with Tivo. There is WiFi throughout the house which is included in the room fee. You have access to all the garden areas as well as our home gym. There is off street parking available on our driveway which is behind electric iron gates so your car will be safe, plus it's not far to unload your things! You are welcome to use the kitchen and tea/coffee-making facilities and we can provide an iron/ironing board and hairdryer on request. The only rooms which are private are our and our son's bedrooms (situated adjacent to your room on the first floor) and our office/music room area which we use for work (although you are welcome to play the guitar or keyboard if the room is not in use.) Interaction with Guests We are professional musicians and run our own jazz music company so are mostly around on weekdays and weekday evenings. On weekends we do often have gigs (especially in the summer season) and we would inform you of our movements at the time of accepting your booking. We are happy to provide you with keys to the house so you can come and go as your please. You are welcome to hang out with us if you are around during the day and if you prefer private time then that is fine with us too. The Neighbourhood Our neighborhood is friendly and safe. We are situated on the southern outskirts of Bedford in Goldington overlooking Goldington Green. We are just over a mile from the town centre and five-minute's walk from a 24hr Tesco supermarket and service station. Getting around There are regular buses into the centre of town and the bus stop is 30 seconds walk from our house. If you prefer to walk into town it will take you about 30 minutes straight up Goldington Road. The nearest Train station is Bedford Station which is 2.5 miles from our house. We will be happy to collect you/drop you off if our schedule allows - otherwise we can recommend a reliable taxi company A1 Cars. There is a beautiful river that runs through the centre of town and the surrounding Embankment is delightful. The Priory Country Park is just minutes away from us and has a gorgeous lake, wildlife reserve and some lovely walks. Bedford offers theatres, a multiplex cinema, Fitness First, Golds Gym and LA Fitness, and a nice selection of cafes, restaurants and bars. Other Things to Note We have recently added to our family a very friendly and laid-back short-haired cat called Sergio. He will not have access to your room (unless you would like some company!) but does like to spend his daytime hours snoozing in the conservatory or on the sofa in the lounge.

Parking: We have off street parking behind an iron gate for up to 6 cars.
