The Canal runs the lenghen of the Great Glen, it was built by Thomas Telford, to join the North east coast of Scotland to the West coast, It satrt just outside of Fort William at Corpach where the sea lock opens onto the Caledoina Canal, that then runs all the way to Inverness the Canal has numerous locks on it that join the natural Lochs, of the gorge.
