Dublin Zoo and the Phoenix Park - Dublin Zoo is located in the Phoenix Park, the largest park in Europe. It is now officially Ireland's top visitor attraction.It is a short bus ride from Egans House. Ask reception for details. You could walk it but it takes about 30 minutes.As one of the world’s oldest, yet modern zoos, the 28 hectare park in the heart of Dublin is home to some 600 animals in a safe environment where children can roam and engage with the animals without injury.

Glasnevin Museum & Visitor Centre - Glasnevin Museum & Genealogy Centre is a 10 minutes walk from Egans House. Glasnevin Cemetery has walking tours commencing at 11.30am and 2.30pm daily. Tours are around 7 euro pp. The tours give people a valuable insight to the unique burial place and final resting-place of the men and women who have helped shape Ireland's past and present. Many famous patrons are buried here, including William Butler Yeats,Peig Sayers Michael Collins,Gerard Manley Hopkins, Brendan Behan to name but a few.

Hedigans Pub or Brian Boru - Hegidans Pub or Brian Boru as it is commonly known to locals in the area is steeped in history. King Brian Boru camped on this very site before the Battle of Clontarf which occured in 1014. Today the Brian Boru welcomes visitors from all around the world and has become very popular with locals and visitors by providing quality food, drinks, entertainment each evening.

The National Botanic Gardens - The National Botanic Gardens are a short stroll away from Egans House. They are standing on 19.5 hectares of land and contain many stunning features including a sensory garden, rock garden, large pond, extensive and exotic flowers/plants, sculptures and herb gardens. The Glasshouses are architecturally beautiful on the outside and within, housing an amazing variety of cacti, palm, and fern plants. When you feel tired strolling you can take a leisurely break by the pond or on one of the many seats strategically placed for you to take in its beauty and peacefulness. Copious Car and coach parking available at the rear.

The Porter House North - The Porter House North superpub is 5 minutes away from Egans House by foot. It is a fantastic place to visit for anyone including couples, families and groups. It brews hundreds of its own beer which I may add are very tasty to say the least.It offers pizza's from their woodfired oven, gastro pub burgers, salads which are all very reasonably priced.
