Goodrich Castle - A fantastic mediavel castle managed by English Heritage set in a spectacular location in the Wye Valley. Very good audio tours available and after visiting the castle there is a coffee shop that makes and bakes everything on site. A really good half day out.

Puzzlewood - A magical place to wander in the Forest of Dean at any time of year. The autumn colours are spectacular. A myriad of pathways through ancient woodland. There is a small shop and cafe to revive oneself at the end!

Symonds Yat - An area within the AONB with outstanding views from Yat Rock. See Peregrine falcons dive for their prey. The RSPB are often on site and allow use of the telescopes. On a clear day 3 counties are visible.There is a wooden chalet that serves light refreshments and homemade cakes etc. before you undertake to walk one of the many woodland paths. There is a path down to the River Wye.
