Halwyn is an old Cornish farmstead with the farmhouse believed to be around 250 years old situated in a quiet and secluded valley on the Lizard Peninsula designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Halwyn is located in VERY rural surroundings 2 miles from the nearest village and the roads from the village to Halwyn are single track lanes with passing places. Bed and Breakfast or half board accommodation is available in the farmhouse which is also our home and we aim to make our guests feel welcomed comfortable and at home. You may well get to meet our family ; Toffee our very elderly King Charles SpanielYorkie cross breed dog Somerfield the Border Collie we found in a supermarket car park ( hence the name!!!!) and finally Cefor our ginger cat who just arrived at Halwyn one day and hasn't left since!! On the first floor we have one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and one family room with en-suite shower room. On the ground floor we have an en suite family unit with a double bed and bunk beds. There is also a small sitting area off the bedroom. The en suite is fitted with a shower cubicle with an electric shower washbasin and WC. A door from the sitting area gives direct access to an area of our garden. Dogs are welcome in the ground floor family unit but unfortunately we cannot accept dogs in either of the first floor rooms.All rooms have a mini fridge teacoffee making facilities and colour televisionvideo. You will be offered a choice of breakfast including of course the full English option. A picnic lunch can be provided for a small charge should you wish just let us know the night before. All food is home prepared and we use local (and organic) produce wherever possible. Evening meal can also be provided - we ask for at least 24 hours notice for this. Within 2 miles of Halwyn there are several pubs and bistros which serve excellent food. All of our guests have use of our indoor heated swimming pool and sauna (8am to 9pm Easter to end of October half term and 9am to 8pm early November to Easter) and access to our guest lounge with television and DVD. At Halwyn you will find peace and tranquillity second to none passing traffic is a rarity with only the sounds of nature to break the silence. The grounds at Halwyn extend to some 2 acres and include a stream a small lake and beautiful lawned areas as well as many unusual and beautiful sub-tropical plants which grow well here with the benefit of the Gulf Stream.

Directions to Halwyn HELSTON

Head for the town of Helston and take the A394 south out of the town passing RNAS Culdrose.At the roundabout take the left turning heading for St Keverne on the B3293. You will go through Mawgan and Garras eventually passing Earth Station Goonhilly. Keep on this road passing Zoar Garage on the right arriving in St Keverne.There is a square in the centre of St Keverne in which there are 2 pubs The Three Tuns and The White Hart. Turn left in the square keep the White Hart on your left and exit the village. Soon you will take a sharp right hand bend signed for Porthallow and Porthoustock and pass through a tiny hamlet before taking a left turn signed for Tregarne and Halwyn HELSTON.Follow the winding road passing Tregarne Mill in the valley; continue to the top of the hill where the road bears very sharply to the left. Take the next right which is signposted Halwyn HELSTON. You will pass a house almost as soon as you turn into the lane; Halwyn HELSTON is down in the valley on your right.
