Welcome to the Homestead Luxury Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the Lune Valley. We are located approximately four miles from the stunningly beautiful town of Kirkby Lonsdale. Our friendly B&B is set amidst spectacular views of the Lune Valley and its surrounding hills and makes for an excellent base for exploring the area from a tranquil stress-free environment. The Homestead built in 1560 offers luxury elegance space peace and quiet reminiscent of a bygone age. We are situated very close to two of the most stunning National Parks in the UK namely The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. The Trough of Bowland an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) is only a short drive away. This true jewel in the English crown has many outdoor activities to suit all tastes and picturesque villages with welcoming pubs serving great food. Our beautiful and spacious guest rooms are very tastefully and sympathetically decorated having period furniture with en suite or private bathroom facilities. All of our rooms feature high ceilings wooden beams and a Victorian cast iron fireplace. Please take advantage of a complimentary drink slice of delicious cake or chocolates upon arrival! Enjoy a hearty full English continental or Spanish breakfast in our elegant dining or breakfast room to set you up for the day. You can relax in our courtyard garden terrace to have a drink while you read or head out to our larger lawn garden about 70 metres from the house. For added convenience we offer free on-site parking and Wi-Fi throughout the property. /p Whatever the season or your reason for visiting - romantic weekend sightseeing walking riding chilling out or shopping - The Homestead is the perfect base to explore the Lake District Yorkshire dales Trough of Bowland and the surrounding areas. Popular local interests include fishing shooting golf walking bird-watching and cycling. For those wanting to indulge in a spot of retail therapy look no further than Lancaster Kendal Kirkby Lonsdale or Hawes with local markets antique shops cafes bars restaurants and many well known high street outlets mingling with local specialty stores offering the very best local produce. For those travelling via train we are a mile and a half from Wennington train station but the nearest main line Lancaster is about 14 miles away. Directions to The Homestead Carnforth

Arriving from the M6 Motorway travelling in a northerly direction leave at junction 34 and turn left to join the A683 signposted Kirkby Lonsdale. Go through several small villages of Caton Claughton and Hornby before arriving at Melling with Wrayton. The Homestead is directly opposite the St Wilfrid s Church on the left hand side of the road. The house has 2 white lions outside the main entrance door and is therfore easly recognised. Travelling in a Southerly direction leave the M6 at Junction 36 join the A65 signposted Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale. Follow the signs to Kirkby Lonsdale. As you pass by Kirkby Lonsdale you will reach a sign for Lancaster and M6 south. Take this right hand Turn join the A683. This will go through several small villages Tunstall and Wrayton before shortly arriving at Melling. The Homestead will be on your right directlty oppostite St Wilfrid s Church.
