All doorways are wide enough for a wheel chair and the floors in the living area are tiled for ease of mobility.

The bath has been replaced by a large corner shower.

The Channel Guest House Weymouth
The building is 214 years old and is grade II listed, so we aren't allowed to install wheelchair ramps or lifts etc, so there are quite a few steps involved in getting to rooms up the house. This means that we're not as disabled friendly as we would like.
So dependant upon your level of mobility may depend on whether we can offer you accommodation, as we always want to ensure you are comfortable and well looked after. If we can't help we will always try to recommend accommodation providers in newer buildings who do have the facilities you require.

Access to our home is from the wide and level driveway with one step into the house via two front doors (85cm wide). We have one ground floor single guest room, although the en suite is not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Other guest rooms are on the first floor (17 stairs) or second floor (32 stairs). Level access to the breakfast room is just off the hallway, and again the doorway is wide enough (74cm) for most wheelchairs to access.

Our room designed for disabled people has an extra wide door and low threshold at the entrance. The shower room door is also extra wide. It has a walk-in shower with seat & grab rails, the basin has swing taps and the toilet has a higher seat with more grab rails in this area. There is plenty of room in the bedroom to manuvour a wheelchair. It is furnish with two single beds to accommodated a carer if needed. The breakfast room and bar area has a gradual ramp to its access.
