Epworth Old Rectory
Prices at Epworth Old Rectory Epworth from See website for details A stunning Queen Anne Rectory built in 1709 - the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley and their sisters. Here Samuel Wesley, the Rector of the parish brought up his large family with his wife Susanna. Their methodical approach to life inspired John and Charles to develop the Methodist movement which changed the religious and social landscape of 18th century Britain. Visitors explore the house with trained guides and can see period furniture and artefacts related to the Wesleys. There is a new special exhibition every year (in 2012 it will relate to the Olympics), and there are special events through the year such as craft fairs, concerts, candlelit tours and schools' activities.
