Over 45 rescued historic buildings rebuilt in a beautiful setting in the South Downs National Park

For a fascinating day out, visit England’s leading Museum of historic buildings and traditional rural life. The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum near Chichester, West Sussex, is home to over 45 original buildings which have been rescued from destruction and rebuilt in the heart of the South Downs National Park, bringing to life the homes, farms and workplaces of the south east over the past 500 years. Exhibits include a medieval farmstead; a working 17th century watermill; exhibitions of traditional countryside skills; a Tudor kitchen, historic gardens, working Shire horses and cattle, plus rare breed farm animals. Special countryside events are held throughout the year.

Pets: Dogs welcome, on a lead at all times.
