Carreg Cennen Castle Ammanford

Description of Carreg Cennen Castle Ammanford

Carreg Cennen Castle & Farm is located 1 mile north east of Trapp on the western fringe of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is a short drive or medium length walk from the Glynhir Estate. Originally a Welsh castle built by the Welsh Princes of Deheubarth what remains today is a product of King Edward I's castle building to retain a power hold over the Welsh people. The Castle, Tea Rooms and Craft Shop are open all year, the only closed day is Christmas Day.

All with regard to the farm & cafe. The castle itself is situated upon a high crag and as such walking up to the castle errs on the side of invigorating.
