Our peaceful and individual cottages are dotted around our coastal organic dairy farm, just a short walk from the sea.

We are a working organic dairy farm set in unspoilt countryside on the beautiful South Devon coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our 5 individual cottages are all situated around the farm in remote, rural settings only a short walk from the Coast Path – fantastic for walking and exploring nearby coves and beaches. We put fresh local organic milk in each cottage for guests on arrival. Carswell is also the birthplace of the Well Hung Meat Company, so our visitors can taste award winning local organic lamb and beef. Dogs very welcome. Open all year. 4* and 4* GOLD VisitBritain rated.

Parking: Off road parking available in all cottages.

Wifi: WiFi available on all our cottages free of charge.

Pets: We believe the family dog is just that, a member of the family and deserves a holiday too! Here at Carswell, Geoff & Zoe have Polly and Taxi, their labradors, and Katherine has Rhia and Tug, her border collies - so we all know a thing or two about dogs! We believe that if you have a well-trained, clean and well-behaved dog and want them to join in with the family holiday, why should you compromise on quality when it comes to your accommodation? We do have a few rules though that we ask you to respect. We do ask that your dog is not allowed in bedrooms, upstairs or on the furniture at any time and is also not left unattended in the cottage. Please also clean up after your dog in the garden and do respect the other guests' peace and make sure your dogs are not a nuisance to near neighbours. Please also keep your dog on a lead when walking around the farm - we have game birds here as well as livestock, so please do respect this request even if you can't see any cows or sheep! We have always found that the majority of dog owners are very respectful and conscientious people and look after our cottages as if they were their own. We welcome dogs in The Lodge, Corner and Shepherd's Cottages and all of these cottages have well fenced private gardens. They all have a kitchen or utility room where your dog can dry out after a coastal walk and they also have doors and 'baby gates' on the stairs to help you keep your dog downstairs!

Families: Kids of all ages love our cottages, not just because they have great days out from them - building sandcastles, exploring secluded coves, rock pooling, hiring bikes, adventures in ruined castles, trips on steam trains and ferry boats or a day out at one of our great visitor attractions - but because after they get "home", there's still so much to do! With the exception of The Mews, all of our cottages are great for children - and here's a few of the things we provide for them: Communal play area with Alice The Tractor and lots of hand crafted wooden toys and logs to play on, as well as space to run around! Digital widescreen TVs with Freeview as well as terrestrial channels. DVDs - all properties have a selection of DVDs to appeal to all ages. CD players & iPod connections. Books, toys and games - to suit all ages from 2 to 102. Enclosed gardens to play in. WiFi access (for those teenagers who can't be seperated from Facebook!) A range of baby equipment to ease your packing. We provide fixed stairgates, travel cots, highchairs, toys and books. We can also offer a soft double sided bed guard (called Dream Tubes) for young children to provide a soft and safe environment for them to snuggle up in for a good night's sleep. We can give you a few names of local babysitters, all of which Zoe & Geoff have used recently to babysit their children.

Disabled Facilities: Corner Cottage has 2 downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom (bath with shower attachment only), has level access and a lovely big open plan kitchen/living area - making it suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
