Located in Oxfordshire North of Witney on the B4022 just outside the small village of Hailey - this classic Cotswolds hotel is in an ideal location in the heart of the country within a few miles of Oxford Chipping Norton and major motorways. The Bird in Hand is a Grade II listed building. Visually it is a classic graceful stone and slate Cotswold building. Located between Witney and Chipping Norton on the B4022 the hotel is a mile outside the village of Hailey and set on a slight rise among green fields and graceful Cotswold countryside. From the south the building stands out from the landscape reminding us of the heritage of the Cotswolds middle England and the beauty of this part of our fragile world. Nestled amongst the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds the Bird in Hand offers you a warm relaxed welcome. The Inn abounds with natural Cotswold stone and a number of heavily beamed rooms each with its own warmth and character. The oldest room is a focal point with its huge inglenook fireplace which blazes away with enormous logs during the cold winter nights and is enhanced with a display of local flowers during the hot summer season. Since the original 17th Century Inn was totally renovated it has endeavoured to provide excellent service and mouth-watering food in a warm friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Roads from the North: Exit M40 at Junction 9 follow signs for A34 Oxford exit at the Peartree interchange take 2nd exit on roundabout sign A40 and Witney. Once on the A40 follow signs for Witney and come off at Witney East. Once in Witney follow signs for Hailey (B4022). The Bird in Hand is situated about 1 mile further on.
