The North Cliff Hotel standing in its own grounds has some of the finest views of the North Devon coastline. It is in a peaceful position some 500 feet above sea level on the well known marine North Walk overlooking Lynmouth Bay and the beautiful Watersmeet Valley and a 200 metre walk to Lynton. With car parking facilities on the forecourt the hotel is an ideal base for exploring Exmoor National Park . Children dogs and groups welcome Local activities include walking riding tennis and putting and the North Cliff is ideally situated for exploring the coastline and Exmoor National Park. The road in front of the hotel forms part of The South West Coastal Path and the remarkable Valley of the Rocks is a 2-mile walk. The famous water powered Cliff Railway linking Lynton and Lynmouth passes within a few feet of the hotel and is accessed via the stepped garden.After a day spent exploring Exmoor or the coast be it walking or touring you will be ready to relax and enjoy a drink on the terrace or at the bar and a home cooked meal in our restaurant which has magnificent sea and coastal views.

Directions to The North Cliff Hotel Lynton

From the north and east leave the M5 at J23 and take the A38 to Bridgewater. Take the A39 westwards towards Williton Minehead Porlock and then to Lynmouth. At Lynmouth continue bearing right at the B3234 signposted to Lynbridge and Barbrook. After appx 500mtrs turn right at the hair-pin bend to Lynton continue up Castle Hill to the church on the right. Take the turning to the right just past the church North Walk Hill and the North Cliff Hotel is situated after 100mtrs at the bottom of the short hill on the left-hand side. From the south and west leave Barnstaple on the A39 towards Lynton. At Blackmoor Gate turn right then immediately left towards Lynton. At Barbrook turn left onto the B3234 towards Lynbridge and Lynmouth. Continue past the first turning on the left signposted to Lynton and proceed through Lynbridge to junction with the hair-pin bend. Keep to the left and continue up Castle Hill to the church on the right. Take the turning to the right just past the church North Walk Hill and the North Cliff Hotel is situated after 100mtrs at the bottom of the short hill on the left-hand side. Or From the North and East leave M5 at Junction 27 and take A361 towards Barnstaple after 25 miles at roundabout turn right onto the A399 at Blackmoor Gate turn right on A39 to Lynton. At Barbrook turn left on to the B3234 towards Lynbridge and Lynmouth continue past the first turning on the left signposted Lynton and proceed through Lynbridge to junction with the hairpin bend. Keep to the left and continue up Castle Hill to the church on the right Take the turning on the right just past the church North Walk Hill and we are the first hotel on the left-hand side.
