The property faces onto the site of the last battle fought on English soil where members of the McPherson Clan lay buried beneath what is known locally as the Rebels Tree. The Hide is on the doorstep of the Lakes and only five minutes away from what is consider ed to be the finest lake Lake Ullswater. It provides an ideal base to explore some of Lakeland's picturesque villages and indeed the less well known but equally lovely Eden Valley. It is an ideal location for cyclists climbers walkers sailors and for sight seeing. The historic village of Clifton has one of the finest Lakeland Inns in Cumbria serving excellent beers and wines and fine cuisine. It is a couple of staggering minutes away from the Hide.The Hide is relatively newly built and offers a choice of flexible accomodation. From the NorthJunction 40 M6 Southbound. A66 East to 1st roundabout. Take 4th exit A6 signposted Shap. Continue through Eamont Bridge (two pubs if refreshment required) and keep on A6 to Clifton village. Through Clifton village passing George and Dragon on Left another dram if required. Take second left after the G and D (not to be confused with G and T which can be had in the G and D) just before unrestricted sign. Second driveway on left. L shaped property facing you!From the SouthM6 exit junction 40 then directions as above. Alternatively take junction 39 signposted Shap and continue on A6 through Shap (lots of pubs fish and chips Mango restaurant etc.) Continue on A6 approximately 7 miles descending into Clifton Village. Slow Down or you will miss the turning you require! First right after 30 mile signpost. Second driveway on left. L Shaped property facing you.
