Waternook lying at the foot of Hallin Fell on the shore of beautiful Ullswater offers room and breakfast for those wishing to escape the crowd. Waternook enjoys over a quarter of a mile of Ullswater lake frontage boat house and jetty and 27 acres of land exclusively for guests to explore at their leisure. We are also proud to offer private charters kayak and canoe hire. At Waternook you are perfectly placed to enjoy all that Ullswater has to offer.Waternook is a short 500 metre walk from the hamlet of Howtown and Howtown Pier where the Ullswater Steamer docks and can ferry you to Pooley Bridge Patterdale and Glenridding and some of the most beautiful walks in Lakeland. Ullswater offers fishing canoeing and boat hire; bird red squirrel and wildlife watching (the red deer in Martindale); fell walking with Hallin Fell High Street Pikeawassa Fusedale Beda Fell Boredale and Place Fell on the doorstep. We are located about 15-20min drive from Penrith train station.From M6Exit at junction 40 and take the exit signposted A66 towards Keswick. At the roundabout take the second exit past the Rheged Centre towards Ullswater on the A592. At T-junction turn left onto the B5320 to Pooley Bridge. Continue to a small roundabout and take the second exit towards Howtown. At the juntion turn right and follow the road for approx. four miles.
