Formerly the village school Muncaster Country Guest House is now a four star guest house full of character and charm. Owners Sue & Vin invite you to enjoy the relaxing and informal home from home atmosphere and offer you a friendly welcome whether your stay is short or long for business or pleasure. All our rooms are en-suite and are situated on the ground floor. They are well equipped with televisions hairdryers and hospitality tray. A guest lounge with log burning stove provides a welcoming place to sit after a long day s sight-seeing or walking on the fells. Most ingredients are sourced locally for the substantial cooked breakfasts. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden with its abundance of natural wildlife. Parking is available in the car park that was formerly the school playground. For Visitors arriving by train we can by prior arrangement pick you up from Ravenglass Station. We also have secure storage available for push bikes.

By Road - The North (Carlisle) (Approx 55 miles) From Carlisle head west on the A595 sign-posted Workington . Follow the A595 past Whitehaven Egremont and Gosforth. After Holmrook you pass a Texaco filling station on the right. We are just over two miles beyond this. Do not turn into Ravenglass but follow the A595 bearing left. We are just beyond the Muncaster Castle car park on the left. Allow 70 - 80 minutes from Carlisle. By Road - The South (J36 M6) (Approx 53 miles) Leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow the A590 signs to Barrow. Continue along the A590 to Newby Bridge then turn off onto the A5092 (sign-posted Workington and Whitehaven ). Then follow the main road onto the A595 past Broughton in Furness continue on and turn right at the T-Junction. Continue on the A595 through Bootle and Waberthwaite. The guest house is about mile beyond the coach entrance to Muncaster Castle on the right hand side of the road. Allow 70 - 80 minutes from the M6.
