Built in 1891 Argyle House is steeped in history first known as the Argyle Temperance Hotel. It has evolved to a cosy bed and breakfast retreat in this charming village which is centrally located in the Cairngorm National park. Although the building is old it offers modern conveniences with central heating and double glazing. Argyle Guest House provides the perfect base whatever your Activity - Whether you are just taking in the sites or doing something more strenuous Tomintoul has something for everyone. In the heart of the Whisky trail we are close to many world famous distilleries withThe Glenlivet and Glenfiddich close bye. Tomintoul is now also proudly the home of the worlds largest bottle of whiskey at a huge 105 liters next door to us is the Whisky castle which has over 500 single malts so something to suit everyone s taste. br / br / br / br / For the two wheeled enthusiasts we are a regular stop on the Coast to Coast MTB cycle route as well as Lands End John O Groats for the road cyclists. Those who wish to take things a little easier could do a days riding on one of the Glenlivet Estate s many cycle trails which cater for all levels. For the thrill seekers the Lecht Ski Centre offers two downhill MTB tracks as well as fantastic skiing in the winter months br / br / br / br / Discovering the the local area on two legs puts to in the heart of the Cairngorm s National Park with all it has to offer. The Glenlivet Estate also offers wonderful walks all around the village. Argyle House also provides a regular stop for those walking the Tomintoul Spur of the Speyside Way. You can also explore on four legs with Rosie at Highland Hooves pony trekking centre. br / br / br / br / If none of the above is for you then spending a day s fly fishing on the River A an or the Spey for salmon could be your thing. Directions to Argyle Guest House Ballindalloch

Inverness - Road: Leave Inverness on the A9 Perth until you reach the A938 to Carrbridge. Travel until you reach the A95 and turn left towards Grantown on Spey. Continue on the A95 and take the first right to Tomintoul on the A939 if there is heavy snow continue on the A95 until you reach the B9008 and turn right. Both roads will bring you directly to Tomintoul. Driving time approximately 1 hour. We are on the main street of the village next to the Whisky Castle. br/ br/ Aberdeen - Road: Leave Aberdeen on the A944 towards Strathdon until the A939 to Tomintoul past the Lecht ski centre. At the T junction turn left towards the main street alternatively take the A96 towards Huntly and continue past Huntly and through Keith. Shortly afterwards you will see a sign for a95 Grantown on Spey which you will take. Follow this road until you reach the B9008 to Tomintoul. On reaching Tomintoul we are the first house on the right as you come into the village. Approximately 1.5 hours. br/ br/ Glasgow/Edinburgh - Road: Follow the A9 towards Perth and Inverness. There will be a turn off to Aviemore A95. shortly after follow A95 to on the left and follow signs to Grantown on Spey until you reach the A939 to Tomintoul on the right. Follow until you reach the village and we are at the top of the village on the left hand side of the road. Driving time approximately 3.5 hours.
