Off the beaten track The Ben Loyal Hotel is situated 85 miles north of Inverness just off the A836 or 47 miles along a beautiful route from Durness on the A838. Tongue is approximately a 5 - 6 hour drive (250 miles) north of Edinburgh and Glasgow 1 hour from the Orkney ferry terminal at Scrabster and an hour (43 miles) from Thurso.
