The Old Station House is situated in what was the station yard at Bridge of Dee. The guest accomodation is in two beautifully prepared ensuite rooms. Both rooms have king sized beds TV and tea and coffee facilities. Room 1 has a large wet room attached and room 2 has an ensuite shower and toilet. Although the station closed in 1947 and the last trains passed through in the early 1960 s there are still a number of original features of the old station. The passenger platform is in the process of reconstruction and the original goods platform forms part of the garden. In the garden there is a tastefully converted 1957 railway carriage which is available on a B&B or self catering basis.

Directions to The Old Station House Castle Douglas

From the south on the M6 heading north exit at Gretna onto the A75 towards Dumfries and Stranraer. Stay on the A75 past Dumfries until you come to the Castle Douglas bypass. Stay on the A75 2 miles west of Castle Douglas you will see signs for Bridge of Dee on the left and Glenlochar to the right. Turn right towards Glenlochar the entrance to the property is on the left about 200 metres off the A75. The house phone number is 01556 680200 or our mobile is 07771 703728. From the north take the M74 south. Exit at Moffat and follow signs for Dumfries. When you reach the A75 Dumfries bypass head west towards Stranraer and follow the same directions as above.
