Located in the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National and nestled between the ancient site of Bolton Castle and the astounding Aysgarth Falls the Wheatsheaf Inn offers relaxing accommodation for walkers tourists and visitors of the Yorkshire Dales. In 1941James Herriot and his wife Helen spent their honeymoon at the Wheatsheaf. In his book he describes how much they enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent food. This is a tradition that we keep very much alive today with real ales good food and log fires. Whether for a romantic getaway a resting place on a walking holiday or for a special occasion we at the Wheatsheaf will offer you a personal service and comfortable stay. We welcome dogs to the Wheatsheaf in the bar and have a number of dog-friendly. We also have pet free rooms available.

Carperby itself is only a mile or so off the A684 - follow the road towards Aysgarth (if coming from the east) or through Aysgarth (if travelling from the west) and look for a small turning to the north called Church Bank signposted for both Carperby and Aysgarth Falls. Follow Church Bank down across the river Ure and back up the other side (passing Aysgarth Falls at the bridge at the bottom). You will pass the entrance to the Aysgarth Falls Visitor Centre on your left as you ascend the hill continue up past this and follow the lane along until you reach a T-junction. Turn right to head into Carperby passing the memorial cross and small village green on your left as you go. The Wheatsheaf is situated roughly in the centre of Carperby on the main street to your left as you enter the village from the west.
