John Judy and their son Graham offer you a warm welcome at the Black Swan which stands on the main street of Marton at the crossroads of the A156 and the A1500 approximately 5 miles south of the historic market town of Gainsborough and 14 miles north west of the city of Lincoln with its superb Cathedral and Castle. br / br / br / br / The property is Grade II listed and dates from the 18th Century as an old coaching inn and was built on the site of a former building known as the Black Swan Posting House . There is an existing cellar from this property and it is said that Oliver Cromwell rested here during the Battle of Gainsborough in 1643. The property has been refurbished to a high standard using many of the original materials. The main house and converted stable block provide very comfortable guest accommodation that attracts business travellers and tourists from near and far. br / br / br / br / We have a total of nine rooms the six rooms in the house are comprised of a four-poster three double one single and one twin rooms. The rooms in the Stable Block include a family room with a double and single bed a twin room and a self contained unit with a double and twin room with bathroom. All our rooms have en-suite facilities tea/coffee tray and TV s. Those in the house are digital and those outside all have Freeview. Wireless Internet is also freely available. There is parking for 10 vehicles in our off-road courtyard car park. br / br / br / br / A splendid a la carte breakfast starts the day at the Black Swan. As members and supporters of Tastes of Lincolnshire our breakfasts are cooked fresh to order using locally sourced sausages bacon and free range organic eggs. We have a wide range of teas available including fruit and herbal choices as well as fresh cafetiere coffee all served in our comfortable dining room. Guests also have the use of a residents lounge where they can relax and enjoy a drink in the evening should they wish.

From the M1 - Travelling South - Road: Via junction 31 A57 towards Lincoln from the North then A1133/156 signposted Gainsborough). br/ br/ From the South West - Road: Via M4 Chippenham Swindon or Cirencester using the Fosse Way (A429 and A46) taking in a small part of the M1 around the Rugby and Leicester area. After Newark use A46 A1133 and A156. br/ br/ Travelling North - Road: Via Junction 21A A46 round Leicester and via Newark from the south then A1133/156 signposted Gainsborough. br/ br/ From the A1 - Road: Turn off at Newark from the south onto A46 (Lincoln) then onto the A1133 and A156 signposted Gainsborough. br/ br/ Via Bawtry - Road: Southern end of Doncaster by-pass A1M from the north using A614 and A631 (Gainsborough) then A156 (Lincoln) as far as Marton.
