Welcome to Green Gables a characteristic Edwardian house set back from the road - a delightful setting in which to relax and enjoy your visit to the historic city of Oxford. Built in 1914 for a local merchant this solid but elegant house has retained the comfortable appearance and atmosphere of that first owner: Indeed more than one guest has written It s like being at home Our rooms are bright spacious and pleasantly furnished to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. br / br / br / br / All rooms have LCD flat screen TV tea/coffee making facilities en-suite showers and toilets. One room on the ground floor has been adapted for disabled guests with its own ramp and front door. FREE WI-FI is available through out the guest house. br / br / br / br / Green Gables is one of the few Guest Houses in Oxford where parking is not a problem. We provide complimentary parking for guests and are situated in the south of the city in a conservation area yet within a mile of the A34 and with easy access to the M4 and M40. br / br / br / br / Gloucester Green coach station and the Oxford train station are 1.5 miles away and buses stop right outside the Green Gables Guest House. The Green Gables is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi/bus ride from the city-centre universities shopping area theatres cinema museums bars & restaurants. Alternatively you can reach the city centre by taking a pleasant stroll along the river Thames. br / br / br / br / For the comfort of our guests we are a non-smoking guest house. We also have a lounge/conservatory and a garden for guests to relax in after a hard day of sightseeing. br / br / We do not take bookings for Saturday night only and ask our guests to stay a minimum of 2 nights including either the Friday or Sunday. br / br / Please note that from Sunday- Friday check in times are 2.00pm to 10:00pm & on Saturday the latest check in time is 6:00pm. br / br / Child Policy - children 5 years and over are welcome. br / br / All children or adults are charged 100 % of the room stay per night per person when using existing beds.

Directions to Green Gables Guest House Oxford

From North M40 - Road: Take the M40 southbound to Junction 9. Follow the sign to the A34 Oxford and stay on A34 till you approach to Junction Hinksey Hill Interchange. Leave A34 on this junction and you will come up to roundabout take first exit and at the next roundabout which is Kennington roundabout take first exit again. Follow the city centre sign which is the Abingdon Road. Pass the Red Bridge Park and Ride and two sets of traffic lights and you will find Green Gables about 200 yards down on your left. br/ br/ From South London M40 - Road: Take the M40 northbound to Junction 8. Exit at this junction to the A40. This is a dual carriageway which comes past the Thornhill Park and Ride to a roundabout (McDonald on the left). Go left on this roundabout Stay on Ring Road till you come Kennington roundabout take second exit. Follow the city centre sign which is the Abingdon Road. Pass the Red Bridge Park and Ride and two sets of traffic lights and you will find Green Gables about 200 yards down on your left. br/ br/ From the West Country M4 - Road: Take the M4 all the way to the junction 13. Then head north up the A34. Leave the A34 at the first exit for Oxford city centre A4144 Hinksey Hill Interchange. You will come up to roundabout take third exit and at the next roundabout which is Kennington roundabout take first exit again. Follow the city centre sign which is the Abingdon Road. Pass the Red Bridge Park and Ride and two sets of traffic lights and you will find Green Gables about 200 yards down on your left. br/ br/ Oxford Train Station - Train: The X3 bus leaves to and from the train station every 20 minutes. Ask driver for the Chatham Road bus stop and Green Gables is opposite the stop. br/ br/ By Bus from City Centre - Bus: By Bus from City Centre: Bus numbers are X2 X3 X4 X13 X23 16 35 X31 X32 X33 X34 X39 X40. Ask driver to stop Chatham Road bus stop which is about 20 Yards away from Green Gables. Please note bus X3 leave to and from train station every 20 minutes
