The Coach House is a superb friendly family run guest house offering dinner bed and breakfast accommodation. Located in Crookham Cornhill on Tweed near Berwick upon Tweed the Scottish Borders and the north Northumberland coast. Comprising of a 17thC dower house with a collection of former farm buildings located in rolling countryside the Coach House has been tastefully renovated and is the perfect retreat to base yourself from. The Coach House is halfway between Newcastle and Edinburgh on the A697 and is conveniently located to allow easy access to all the treasures located in the Secret Kingdom of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. br / br / br / br / The traditional bedrooms upstairs in the dower house offer exposed beams and plenty of character. The tastefully converted bedrooms set around the sun filled courtyard offer spacious fully equipped and disabled friendly accommodation. br / br / br / br / The large vaulted residents lounge and bar features a great open fire with lovely views over the terrace and orchard where Black Welsh Mountain sheep & our flock of chickens graze beneath Damson trees. Complementary afternoon tea is served in the lounge to all guests and on a warm afternoon you can enjoy refreshments in the suntrap that is our expansive terrace. br / br / br / br / Breakfast is served in our 2 elegant dining rooms with period fireplaces beams and feature windows and dinner is available each evening although we strongly recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. .

Directions to The Coach House Cornhill-on-Tweed

Newcastle - Road: If travelling from the south head towards Newcastle on the A1. Continue around Newcastle on the A1 bypass and continue north. Twenty miles north by Morpeth turn left onto the A697. Continue 38 miles north passing Wooler and Milfield. We are three miles north of the village of Milfield. After a long stretch downhill there is a sharp right bend and we are 100 metres further on the left side. br/ br/ Edinburgh - Road: Travelling South on the A68/A698 head towards Coldstream. Cross the border to Cornhill. At the roundabout continue south on the A697 for three miles. You will pass the BlueBell Inn on your right and the turning for the village of Crookham on your left. The entrance for the Coach House is 100 metres on your right side straight after a row of cottages by the roadside. br/ br/ Berwick-upon-Tweed - Train: Main line railway station is at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Taxis are available outside. Bus service runs infrequently - please check. Local Peugeot dealer provides car hire and will collect from the station during working hours. br/ br/ Newcastle or Edinburgh Airports - Air: Please follow our road directions. From Newcastle airport follow main road towards Newcastle then turn onto A1 North after three miles. From Edinburgh airport follow main road towards Edinburgh then turn onto city bypass (A720) until turning for A68.
