Woodleigh Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful Victorian house built in 1895 that has been imaginatively refurbished to a high standard whilst retaining its original charm. Our garden is open to all visitors to enjoy. br / br / br / br / Ilminster is ideally situated close to many National Trust properties and areas of natural beauty. These include Barrington Court Montacute House Forde Abbey and the Blackdown Hills. We are also only 18 miles from the Jurassic coast. br / br / br / br / Ilminster takes its name from the River Ile and the Minster church dating from 1450. The town grew up around the church and some of the oldest buildings are close to the churchyard including the grammar school founded in 1549. In Victorian times the town was an important staging post for travellers with east-west and north-south routes converging there. Market Square has a colonnaded market cross rebuilt in 1813 and is surrounded by handsome buildings. Ilminster is an attractive and peaceful town with a good variety of shops a theatre and enchanting street names like Strawberry Bank.
