Georgian country house built ca.1840 as a temperance inn. It was later used as a coaching inn and the house has links to smugglers which was once a flourishing business on this part of the Yorkshire coast. The house stands in 30 acres of land on which we have highland cattle ducks chickens and Shetland ponies.

Scarborough - Road: Once in Scarborough follow the A171 towards Whitby. At Cloughton (6miles out of Scarborough) take the right turn off signposted Ravenscar. Follow this road for 5 miles. Come up the hill towards Ravenscar we are situated on the left hand side of a right angled bend (opposite a dis-used windmill with no sails). Drive past the house into car park at the back. The guest entrance is at the front of the house. From Whitby follow the A171 towards Scarborough. Nearest railway station is Scarborough.
