Ashley House was a former gentlemen s residence which was built in 1879. It is a Victorian Villa built of Marland brick under a slate roof. Ashley House and its neighbour were both originally bought by two brothers John Tucker Widgery and Samuel Widgery after they had contested the will of the famous artist J.M.W Turner whose sister had married their uncle. Lord Samuel Widgery the Lord Chief Justice of England from 1971-1980 was born at Ashley house in 1911. br / br / br / br / We have a blue plaque on the front of the house to commemorate this event and the house features on the official South Molton Heritage Trail. br / br / br / br / Set in the heart of the historic market town of South Molton Ashley House Bed and Breakfast offers guests luxury accommodation whilst being perfectly situated to explore the beautiful countryside of North Devon and Mid Devon Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks and the beautiful North Devon coastline. br / br / br / br / Ashley House offers three luxury en-suite bedrooms each with its own distinctive style. M5 - Road: Sat Nav users (GPS) Our postcode is EX36 3DJ Exit M5 at Junction 27 take the A361 exit to Tiverton/Barnstaple. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A361. At the roundabout take the first exit onto B3227. Turn right onto Queen Street/B3227. This will turn into East Street and you will see Paradise Lawn behind black wrought iron railings on the right hand side opposite the fruit and veg and butcher shops. Ashley House is at the back of Paradise Lawn br/ br/ London Paddington - Train: Our major train station is Tiverton Parkway.
